StageMix is an application for the Apple iPad that provides remote control of Yamaha LS9 digital mixing console functions via a simple, intuitive graphical interface from anywhere within wireless range. The software has been specifically designed to allow engineers to adjust monitor mixes from the performers’ positions on stage, directly controlling mix parameters via the iPad rather than having to rely on verbal directions to a second engineer. The result is better mixes in less time; a huge advantage during high-pressure pre-show setup. Although StageMix is focused on the requirements for adjusting monitor mixes on stage, its range of features is continually expanding, allowing it to be used for a wider variety of remote control functions.

Great App
This app workd great! Connected fast with the console and worked smooth as butter! Would be nice to have access to matrix sends on outputs but other than that has every thing you need! Also on my iPad air the Long faders are bigger than the faders on the LS9 so is it more accurate than the desk itself???
a must have
If you've got an LS9 and an iPad then this is a *must* have. The fact that this app was available and only requried a wireless network (no PC/Mac required) was enough to help me choose buying an LS9. Not a deep editor like the studio manager software and i understand you can only connect ONE remote device to your mixer (ipad or the studiomanager software)
Done a FOH mix at an event where i couldn't get the multicore or desk out-front and this was abosolutely ace.

Also fantastic that you can do each monitor mix in the location of that mix.
The only flaw i found is that sometimes it appeared to slow down the user interface of the LS9. Buttons and displays on the LS9 occasionally lagged or were non-repsonsive, as if the ipad app had priority control.
Another downsided is that you cant access the racks or FX in this version. (unless ive missed it) but that was not a problem once the general setup had been done. For riding the faders and EQ tweaks away from the LS9 this does a great job.

The LS9 desk is superb. Coupled with an iPad and Stagemix it's even better! This app has halved the time it takes to get monitor mixes setup and interestingly seems to lead to lower levels - possibly because I'm stood next to musicians and singers rather than doing it from the desk relying on gestures and hand signals.
I use this in a UK church setting and it is perfect.
If you've got an LS9 and need to set-up monitor mix's or FOH EQ then sure you can hook up a laptop or tablet but the iPad is much quicker and easier and feels much more intuitive.
